Pathology means
disease science and deals with structural and functional disorders in cells,
tissues and organs and identifies their diseases. In the pathology laboratory;
Servikovajinal smear, fine needle aspirations, tru-cut biopsies, small
biopsies, excisional biopsies and operation materials taken with US or CT if
necessary are carried out in detail.

(An extra $250
can be requested for each extra painting).
Tissues/organs
(biopsies) removed from the body by a small or large surgery, fluids are
examined and a "Pathology Report" is given in 7-15 days.

Pathology
in the Diagnosis of Cancer
Today,
pathological examination is necessary and mandatory for the definitive
diagnosis of many diseases, especially tumors. The definitive diagnosis of
cancer is made by pathologists.

Pathology
is mandatory in definitive diagnosis
Pathology
examines the causes that lead to diseases, the way they affect tissues and
organs, especially the morphological (formal, visual) properties of diseased
tissues and organs. In this sense, pathology forms the basis of medicine.
Pathology provides easier understanding of diseases by adding the abnormal
appearance of diseased organs to the naked eye or under the microscope to the
knowledge learned in anatomy and physiology. Today, pathological examination is
necessary and mandatory for the definitive diagnosis of many diseases,
especially the diagnosis of tumors. The definitive diagnosis of cancer is made
by pathologists.

How to
perform pathological examination?
Registration: Tissue samples/samples that come to the pathology laboratory and
the pre-diagnosed pathology request paper with the doctor's information about
the patient concerned are recorded by matching. Pathology report number is
given.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Macroscopic
(naked eye) examination: Tissue samples are
examined by the pathologist with the naked eye and their size and
characteristics are recorded. The tissues are then placed in special cassettes
with the given recording number and go through the following procedures.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Detection
(fixation): The determination is made in order
to prevent the appearance of tissues at that moment from changing and
deteriorating under the influence of heat, humidity and enzymes. The tissues
held in the appropriate formalin solution can be easily evaluated
histopathologically even after months and years. This process takes 2-24 hours
depending on the size of the tissues.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Follow-up
(tissue processing): The first stage after
detection is the removal of water from the tissue (dehydration). The aim here
is to ensure that the tissue hardens with a series of processes and therefore
the tissues can be cut. This process is usually done with automatic tissue
tracking devices and takes 12 hours.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Blocking: Tissues that are detected and dehydrated are buried in paraffin
blocks. This is the process to make it possible for tissues to be cut very
thinly.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Cutting:
Paraffin blocks are cut 4-5 microns thick with special cutting devices called
microtoms. The sections are taken onto the glass called lam and the painting
process is proceeded.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Painting: Painting is the process that allows cells to appear under a
microscope. Commonly used paint is hematoxylane (blue) and eosin (red). For the
definitive diagnosis of most diseases, it is enough to evaluate the
preparations painted with these dyes.
For detailed information, you can reach our WhatsApp +90 545 445 24 94 Contact line 24/7.
Microscopic
examination: It is the evaluation of painted
lams under a microscope by the pathologist. The definitive diagnosis of cancer
and tissue is given at this stage. Since pathologists know the structures of
normal tissues/organs well, they detect abnormal developments under the
microscope, changes of cells, proliferation, special effects of diseases and
make their diagnosis based on this data. In some cases, they also add their
comments.

Pathology
report: This report includes patient
information, pathology report number, clinical summary, sending clinical doctor
name, where tissues are taken, how they are taken, characteristics, diagnosis
and additional notes where necessary. The pathology report includes not only
cancer/tissue diagnosis, but also data that will help treat it and have
characteristics in its progression: type, degree, rate of proliferation, vessel
and nerve retention, relationships with surrounding tissue, how big it reaches,
how deep it goes, whether surgical boundaries are clean, the answer of the
immune system... These pathology reports prepared for the patient are written
for the patient's doctor and must be evaluated by the relevant doctor and
explained to the patient.
